  6. Wow!! Perfectly stated. That says what I think we all recognize in others. Life, with all it’s struggles and challenges, makes us beautiful.
Thanks for sharing that. I may have to re-blog it as well.

Although I agree that the mind must work through struggles to grow wisdom, here is an interesting point of view!

LIFE AND WAY OF BEING ARE CHOICE

  10. Hi Stephen

A very happy new year to you in 2013, my first and still faithful follower. I so much appreciate your support during my growing pains and wish you all the best for the new year.

I don’t know if you know but Bradley Wiggins, the first Brit to carry off the yellow jersey, won the UK Sports Personality of the Year 2012 and was knighted in the New Years Honours List. A real shot in the arm for the world of British cycling. I think the Manager of the Year was also the Olympic Cycling coach, so a double whammy.

For such a wonderful sportsman Bradley is such a modest man. He spoke of the honour of receiving the award because, for a sportsperson in the UK, this is not only rare but represents the highest honour that can be bestowed. However, he also talked about his discomfort at the title, using Sir before his name, because it smacked of elevation, of being held somehow above other men.

No wonder he captured the public’s imagination. It was the public, not the great and the good, who voted for him in the Sports Personality Contest. Bradley has come from humble beginnings, his has been a battle against the odds and I am sure that it is this that has taken him to such dizzy heights.

Shaped in that crucible, me thinks.

    With love

    Corinne

    • As an avid racing cyclist I have bowed down to Sir Wiggins’ achievements long before we began addressing him formally. He is an awesome rider…and for those of us who were taken in by the betrayal of Mr. Armstrong, it is refreshing to see someone so humble and appreciative instead of arrogant. One almost got the feeling from Lance that he expected all the adoration.

But thanks for keeping me up-to-date on what is happening…I often have my head buried in a computer for far too many hours out of the day.

      Be encouraged!

  11. Loved this. This is the first thing I read online today, the first day of a new year. A great thought to start the year. All the best in 2013.

  13. I concur… and we can all be that one. 🙂
